Domains

Organization domains are shared resources. After ownership is verified, you can enable email or custom Site use; Workspaces in the Organization can then use the configured domain. For email, each Workspace keeps its own Inbox address.

Before You Begin

  • Have organization admin access and control of the domain's DNS provider.
  • Decide whether you are setting up email, a custom Site domain, or both.

Add and Verify a Domain

  1. Open the Organization's Domains section. Choose Add Domain (or Add First Domain when the list is empty).
  2. Enter the domain and select Map a web site, Use email, or both. Continue through the apex-domain confirmation if it appears.
  3. Select the domain in the list. In Domain ownership, copy the displayed TXT record and publish it with your DNS provider.
  4. Return to the domain detail and choose Verify ownership. The ownership badge and last-checked time show the result.

Enable Email

  1. After ownership is verified, choose Enable email on this domain.
  2. Publish the displayed SPF, DKIM, MX, and Return-Path DNS records.
  3. Choose Verify DNS. Inbox creation on the domain becomes available after all required records verify. If you already have SPF at that host, update the existing SPF record instead of adding a second one.
  4. If every record shows as verified but email is still pending, the email provider has not confirmed the records yet. Choose Verify DNS again after a few minutes. If it is still pending after an hour, contact support with the domain name.

Enable a Custom Site Domain

  1. After ownership is verified, open the Sites card and follow its DNS setup.
  2. Publish the displayed CNAME and domain-control TXT records before enabling the Site domain.
  3. Choose Verify DNS after DNS resolves. Site routing remains blocked until the required records verify.

What You Should See

The detail cards show separate ownership, email, and Site status. A verified ownership record is the prerequisite for enabling either email or Sites. The domain list groups child hosts under their parent; for adding and removing those hosts, see Child Hosts.
