Supervisors

A Supervisor reviews a Workflow Chat before the main assistant responds. Its prompt defines what to review; its capabilities determine whether it can suggest a response, override it, pause the Chat, or escalate to a human.

Create a Supervisor

  1. Open Settings → Toolkits → Supervisors and select New Supervisor.
  2. Enter a Name, Display Name, and Description. The Name identifies the Supervisor and cannot be changed after creation.
  3. In Chat, write a Prompt describing the decisions the reviewer should make. Select a Chat Model if this reviewer needs a specific one.
  4. In Capabilities, enable the interventions it needs: Suggest Response, Pause Chat, Override Response, or Escalate to Human.
  5. Configure any supporting Abilities, then save.

For example, a reviewer that should stop a Chat for human review needs Pause Chat and a prompt describing when to use it. Giving that instruction without the capability does not enable the intervention.

Attach it to a Workflow

Open the Workflow or Task's Abilities tab, add Supervisor, and select the saved Supervisor. Choose whether Include History should provide Chat history for the review, then save.

Test both a Chat that should continue and one that should prompt an intervention. Check the resulting response or pause before publishing the Workflow. Use ability conditions if supervision should apply only in a particular context; use the CEL reference for the variables available there.

A Supervisor provides AI review. To request guidance from a designated colleague, configure Contributors.
