Connect an MCP Server

An MCP connection points Gravity Rail to a server that already exists. It does not host or deploy a server. Hosted directory providers and custom servers use the same App Connections area; their account authorization and available tools depend on the provider.

Connect a directory provider or custom server

  1. In App Connections, open the Directory tab and search for the provider name or MCP Server.
  2. Select Install. For a custom server, enter its HTTPS endpoint. Use the provider's published endpoint and account setup instructions for hosted services.
  3. Complete the authorization shown for that provider. If the server requires a static API-key header, enter the header name and secret in the provided authentication settings; do not put credentials in the server URL.
  4. Save and open the connection. Gravity Rail discovers the tools the server exposes after authorization.
  5. Review the available tools, then use Toolkits and MCP Connections to select tools for the intended Workflow.

The Directory shows the available provider names and descriptions for your workspace. Examples include Linear, Sentry, Notion, DeepWiki, PayPal, NetSuite, dala.care, and Google Stitch. Workspace availability can depend on your plan or enabled features.

Choose tools for a Workflow

Connection setup makes the server's discovered tools available for review. It does not automatically attach every tool to every Workflow. Select only the tools needed for the Workflow and check the provider account's permissions separately.
