Set Up Documo Fax

Use this guide to receive faxes from a Documo account in Gravity Rail. The connection handles inbound faxes; faxing through Gravity Rail phone numbers is covered in Fax and phone numbers. For provider API details, see the Documo developer connection guide.

Before you start​

You need permission to manage App Connections, a Documo account with API access, and a destination folder that the fax owner can open. Documo account credentials and webhook setup are managed by your Documo administrator.

Install and connect the Documo account​

  1. Open App Connections and install Documo Fax. The connection page shows the webhook URL and credentials to add to Documo.
  2. Under Settings, choose Production or Sandbox to match the Documo account you are connecting.
  3. Enter the API key for that same environment and select Test connection. Save the account settings after the test succeeds.

Keep sandbox and production URLs and keys paired. A key from one environment will not authenticate against the other.

Add the inbound webhook in Documo​

In Documo, open Settings → Webhooks → Create Webhook. Copy the webhook URL, username, and password from the Gravity Rail connection page into their matching Documo fields. Choose Basic authentication and subscribe to both inbound events:

  • fax.v1.inbound.succeed
  • fax.v1.inbound.complete

Save the webhook in Documo, then return to Gravity Rail and confirm the webhook readiness indicator is satisfied.

Choose the fax owner and destination​

In Fax ownership, select the Member or Agent that should own incoming faxes, then choose the landing folder. The selected owner must be able to read that folder. Save the selection and check that the page reports the owner and folder as ready. A folder choice does not change its sharing permissions.

Choose what happens after filing​

Faxes are filed even when no Workflow is selected. To have a Workflow act on each fax, select it under What happens to a received fax and enter instructions if needed. Configure Fax rules separately when incoming faxes should trigger additional rules; selecting a Workflow here does not create those rules.

Verify receipt​

Return to the connection page and confirm the account, webhook, owner, and folder checks are ready. Open Received faxes to review faxes that have arrived. Successful configuration confirms the connection is set up; delivery still depends on Documo sending the subscribed webhook events.
