## Using Metrics

Metrics define measurements such as escalations or Member counts. Create a metric, then review its definition and available readings.

## Open Metrics

Open Metrics from the sidebar. Each card names a measurement and its average over the last thirty days.

## Start a metric

Choose New metric. Start from a type — an AI Score, a CEL Expression, or a Member Count — or from an example like Escalations.

## Name it and scope it

The example fills in the expression. Name the metric, choose the Workflows it measures — here, Front Desk — then Create metric.

## Review readings

Open the metric for its definition and chart. No readings in this range means nothing measured yet — not a value of zero.

## Start with one outcome

Your measurement is defined and its readings are in view, so you can follow one outcome over time. More at docs.gravityrail.com.
